Make-Up Review: SormeSA

SormeSA

If you had told my mother a few years ago that her daughter would be doing beauty and skin care reviews, she would have laughed you all the way to the door. Nah, not her little ” Sarah Bernhardt” a nickname she donned upon me from a young age. She used to tease me by walking around the house catch-phrasing the “I want to be alone” line once infamously heard. Never the less, mother is now one of my biggest fans of my site. And is still quite shocked each time I manage to put eyeliner on without looking like Dracula.

Not to say my nature has changed entirely. I am not and can’t see myself ever being a fan of heavy make-up. Thick make-up. You know the make-up that competely changes your bone structure? I prefer highlighting, or drawing attention to a certain feature, but you wont find me doing a Kim K anytime soon. I need to know that at the end of the day, when I wash my face, brush my teeth and get into bed, I am still Cee.

A few weeks ago, I started seeing the name SormeSA pop up often on my Twitter feed. After curiosity killed the cat, I started browsing their online site. I liked what I saw. I saw make up that was fresh, light, and sexy. Not sultry sexy, but cute, funky, confident happy sexy. So after a few chats with the wonderful Michelle and Team, a few days later and I received this cute little box on my doorstep, with some interesting surprises inside to test out.

Isn’t this the cutest little box? I love it.

Anyway inside I found even more excitement. Id been sent the following products:

The Baked Bronzer – Which can be used Wet or Dry (R349.00)

The Under Shadow Base – My new best friend, Where has this been all these years? (R229.00)

The Perfect Performance Lipstick – Shade Rose No.102 (R209.00)

Let’s just remind ourselves that this is a brand bent on empowering how you feel when you wear their products. The name Sorme alone is a proud and bold statement. It references to the Black Kohl that the Egyptian Queens & Princesses used to use for eyeliner and the likes.

Another little fact to know is the brand is a favorite amongst make-up artists and celebrities. Nice to know as these are the folk usually wearing make-up on an everyday basis. Keeping that in mind, Sorme has included vitamins, minerals AND sunscreen into their products to protect your skin from damage.

With that and the beautiful day we have been given this morning, I decided to test out my products. I have started off with a competely fresh face, applying only day face moisturizer a few hours ago.

As you can see a few or my dark marks and spots are visible in the above image.

First I have applied a basic liquid foundation to my face. I haven’t used any type of contouring during application, but simply covered the surface of my face I wish to make up.

Next, I applied the SormeSA Baked Bronzer. I used the natural sunlight to guide my hand. Highlight along my bone lines and nose bridge. The final result creating a  soft but matte complexion. As you can see in the close up shot, my skin is evenly toned and colored.

When happy with the final look, I applied the SormeSA Under Shadow Eye-Shadow Primer and then applied my favorite natural shade of eye shadow. I am REALLY impressed with this product. You literally dab your pinkie into the jar and smooth over your lid. You need no more than that and the coverage is great. The product feels amazing, light and prevents shadow wrinkles from forming.

A quick shape of my eye-brows and some mascara and my eyes were done. I didn’t use any liner as I wanted to keep this look fresh and day time funky. Something you can wear to the office in summer or to meet your girls for lunch. If possible I would suggest using a brown mascara over a black mascara and eyebrow pencil during the day to fully get the look.

And last but certaintly not least, it was time to spice up this look with the SormeSA Perfect Performance Lipstick Rose.

And Voila!

So whether your looking for something SASSY?

110_4314

Or something a little more Silly?

Maybe something that matches your Nails?

Or simply, what SormeSA does best, is something that makes you feel, confident, just being you!
